Intro

You don’t have to look far to find expertise and state-of-the-art resources. More than 350 businesses, organizations and government agencies have already sought opportunities to collaborate with UW-Eau Claire scientists and researchers, and you can, too.

The Office of Corporate and Community Partnerships was established through a three-year $400,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The office now serves as the primary entry point for industries, agencies and organizations seeking help from the university for their research and development needs.

Serving the community in bold new ways

Through this new channel, the expertise and instrumentation of the university can be aligned with companies and organizations lacking the technology or people to complete needed testing, production or analysis. This new office will also keep an inventory of all such joint efforts and look for opportunities to expand the collaborations into strategic partnerships.

In addition to serving community need, establishment of the OCCP demonstrates UW-Eau Claire’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to engage in distinctive learning experiences.

Research collaborations with industry and community partners gives students a clear line of sight on the impact of their work. On some projects, students can see that impact almost in real time, which is incredibly motivating and rewarding.
